Tomorrow's Bosses
RIGO Verffabriek is a proud participant in the sixth edition of JINC Baas van Morgen (Tomorrow's Boss). On 23 January 2020, director Machiel will cede his desk chair to two local primary school students. Our company is part of a large group: no less than 317 "bosses" participate in the event.
Through Baas van Morgen, RIGO Verffabriek and JINC, a non-profit organisation that combats inequality among young people, want to raise awareness for the fact that a successful career is not a given for everyone. After all, children born in a poorer environment with fewer role models have a lesser chance of making it as far as their peers from richer neighbourhoods. No matter how smart or talented they are.
Our young bosses have an exciting day ahead of them on the 23rd. Taim (12) and Farai (12) will be picked up from school by the director in the new, electric company car. Once they arrive at the factory, Machiel will pass the baton to the young directors, and they will try to tackle an exciting challenge in the paint production process. The operations manager will really need both these young directors today.
Machiel van Westerhoven is looking forward to it. "I think it's great that we can let them experience that working with your head and hands meets in the manufacturing industry. And... it's awesome to hear how they view the world, what they consider important and what stands out to them. A fantastic day!"
JINC Baas van Morgen will have its sixth instalment this year. The show features children and bosses from Amsterdam, Arnhem, Breda, Flevoland, Groningen, Haaglanden, Kennemerland, Leeuwarden, Leiden, East Brabant, Rotterdam-Rijnmond, Tilburg, Utrecht, Zaanstad and South Limburg.
