Dutch Beach art makes RIGO art
In June 2019, we had Dutch Beach Art create this fantastic artwork on the beach. Rather than paint, they used sand.
Just because we love art and beautiful, wacky things. We sponsor local art and culture, because we believe this contributes to society. Art and Culture add colour and widen your gaze. And wouldn't you know it: colour is what we're all about.
When Amanda saw Tim and his friends of Dutch Beach Art work on a sand figure, she got the idea of having them create a RIGO-themed artwork. Luckily, we clicked, and Tim was willing to make a design in the sand just for us.
Tim Hoekstra didn't take the easy road when it came to the design. The night before, he'd had to solve quite the mathematical puzzle to figure out the pattern in the middle and to create a plan of approach.
It became a race against time, as the tide came in rapidly.
Tim's explanation for the artwork:
The blocks in the middle represent the craftsmanship of parquet installers and painters that you support. In addition, it represents your top-notch product.
The idea for the crest arose after seeing an old can (see our display cabinet). This represents the importance of recognising and accepting our ancestry. Our ancestors offer us wisdom and ensured our survival. Your company was built on three generations of hard work. In addition to the feathers, you can see linseed, too. The material derived from nature and the base for your oils and paints.
