Industrial Culture Week
During the autumn holiday, the Industry around the North Sea Canal area will quite literally be in the spotlight. The theatre spotlights will light up factory floors, quays and the dunes for a peek into the Industrial Culture.
The Industrial Culture Week allows you to experience an exciting mix of music, dance, theatre and contemporary industry. A combination that is part of the DNA of the North Sea Canal area. During the autumn holiday, a variety of shows and tours will take place in the rugged and sometimes raw areas surrounding the North Sea Canal. Of course, that appeals to us quite a bit. The Week will start on Friday 18 October 2019 and will end on Sunday 27 October 2019.
You can take a look inside our own factory, as well as the Verkade cookie factory, the Tata blast furnaces or the Microtechniek workplace. Using an audio tour, you can solve old IJmuiden mysteries, discover the secrets of the port of Beverwijk or sing along to Zaanstad working songs. Visit the Week and enjoy the diversity, raw environment, sea breeze and many aspects of this area. Curious?
