Restaurant receives total metamorphosis

THE CHALLENGE

All 360 square metres of Restaurant Villa Westend were given a total metamorphosis. All floors, walls and ceilings were replaced or repainted. The existing paintwork was given a different colour. Sjoerd Korevaar Interieurarchitectuur made the design. The owner of Villa Westend safeguarded the design and engaged RIGO Verffabriek for advice with regard to the technical finish.

WALL FINISH the wall finish with its prominent steel-blue concrete look was a prominent element of the design. The wall finish required an extra protective invisible coat to protect the walls against the intensive activities of the hospitality sector, both in the restaurant and the sanitary facilities.

SCHILDERWERK The paintwork was designed to match the wall finish, and the colours had to be custom mixed. On top of that, this project included various substrates, ranging from plastic and metals to woodwork.

CEILING the untreated rafters were given a black wood look.

THE SOLUTION

The concrete-look WALL FINISH was finished with two coats of SKYLT Original. Thanks to the invisible character of SKYLT, the original aesthetics of the selected wall finish could be retained while being protected by an easy-to-clean, invisible coating.

PAINTWORK The various elements that required painting wee alternately treated with EKODUR Lacquer 1K (window frames, ventilation grids) and EKODUR Lacquer 2K (doors and movable bar elements).

CEILING Various colour samples were tested on the wooden ceiling rafters using ROYL OIL 2K with a colour pigment. In the end, the client went for the Pitch colour.

THE END RESULT

The design by Sjoerd Korevaar Interieurarchitectuur is was carefully observed by all parties involved. The close cooperation between the client, Villa Westend, the contractor and the RIGO Verffabriek technical consultants allowed for custom solutions (and colours). The end result: a highly refined metamorphosis with wonderful details. www.villa-westend.nl
