Challenge:

This floor was submitted for renovation. The residents have made the conscious choice to use ecologically friendly products. Because the kitchen could only be reached via the parquet floor, the client required a finish that dried and cured quickly.

Solution and system:

Two arguments for an oil finish. The residents were surprised by the story of ROYL oil: made by RIGO Verffabriek in IJmuiden out of linseed oil that is partly cultivated on fallow soil in the Netherlands and pressed in the oil mills at the Zaanse Schans. Artisanal, 100% plant based, locally produced and, therefore, ecological.

They found a suitable colour in the ROYL oil wood tone colour chart. Thanks to the 24-hour drying time, this was a well-founded decision.

The result:

The floor was sanded and then finished with ROYL Oil 2K Mature C09

The floor is very durable and maintenance is quite straightforward. It just needs to be mopped with ROYL Nourishing Soap.
