See you Monday! 350m2 restored to new condition and ready for use in a single weekend.
Object:
Head Office Rabobank Alkmaar and surrounding area. Auditorium and reception area 350 m2.
Performed by:
Gaffi Parketvormgevers Breda - Eric Jongmans in collaboration with 5 other Guild Parquet Installers.
Wholesaler:
Plinten & Profielen Centrale
Applied Product:
ROYL OIL 2K
The challenge:
The client was not happy with the current finish: the floor deteriorated too quickly, and the maintenance programme was not sufficient to keep it in the desired condition.
They wanted to have the 350 m2 floor sanded, finished and delivered within a single weekend, so the floor could be used again on Monday morning 8 o' clock.
The original dark colour had to be retained.
The application period coincided with a period of cold and wet weather conditions.
The substrate:
Renovation of 350 m2 of end-grain oak flooring. The original finish consisted of reactive stain and oil.
The solution:
ROYL OIL 2K fully cures and becomes resilient within 24 hours. As a result, the floor could be oiled on Sunday morning, only to be used on Monday morning. ROYL 2K is highly suitable for colouring. The client chose the colour C08 Mystic Black from the wood tone chart.
Eric assembled a team of 6 people in total, all members of the Guild of Certified Parquet Installers. On Saturday morning, they started clearing and sanding the floor. On Saturday afternoon, the floor received its first treatment with ROYL OIL 2K. Normally, a single ROYL OIL 2K treatment is enough, and the floor was indeed fully dry and resilient on Sunday morning. However, due to the floor type (end-grain wood), the agreement was made to add a second coat of oil on Sunday.
The result:
On Monday morning, the space was furnished and commissioned again.
A check-up took place after three weeks. Everything was shipshape. Another six months later, all users, from the facilities manager to the receptionist, are still highly enthusiastic about the ROYL OIL 2K finish. That's no surprise, because even though the floor had only been vacuum cleaned, wiped and wet-cleaned since its commissioning on 4 February 2013, it didn't show any scratches or stains whatsoever. Despite intensive use by the 200 bank employees, the floor was still in perfect condition.
Even after a year of intensive use, there were no stains or wear. Chairs and wheels had left no scratches, and the colour was fully intact.
