Especially for furniture makers, ROYL OIL 2K is now available in colour and in half-litre packaging. ROYL OIL 2K also offers the perfect protection for furniture or countertops. It can be applied in one go and rubbed dry afterwards. This means you won't have to work in segments. On top of that, it is economical: 0.5 litre is enough for 15 � 20 m2.

- How many coats of ROYL OIL 2K should be applied?

A single ROYL OIL 2K treatment will suffice.
- Can I use ROYL to finish a piece of furniture or a tabletop?

Yes, you most certainly can. ROYL OIL 2K ready-mixed is available in half-litre packaging in 10 popular colours.
- What is the difference between ROYL Oil 1K and ROYL Oil 2K?

The second component of ROYL Oil 2K ensures faster curing and protection, making a surface finished with ROYL Oil 2K loadable and resistant after one night of drying. ROYL Oil 2K is 95% cured after 24 hours. ROYL Oil 1K has a curing time of 7 to 10 days.
- Is de ROYL Oil 2K suitable for use on wood veneer kitchen cabinets?

Yes, you can use ROYL Oil 2K on kitchen cabinets made of wood veneer.
- Can ROYL oils and maintenance oils be applied over another brand's oiled floor?

If the floors are finished with hard wax with a closed film layer, this is not recommended. The oil cannot then be rubbed into the wood. In other cases, it is possible. It is recommended to first intensively clean the floor using a machine and ROYL Intensive Cleaner #9120.
- An oiled floor shows grey spots within a few weeks and there are walkways. What can I do to resolve it?

In this case, too much oil has remained on the wood. This may be because the oil has not been sufficiently rubbed dry with cloths, for example.
The excess oil must be removed. This can be done "dry" by means of polishing, of "wet" by means of intensive mechanical cleaning with ROYL Intensive Cleaner #9120. Then coat the floor very thinly with oil and let it dry at room temperature with sufficient ventilation.
- Can a coloured oiled floor still be changed in terms of colour?

It is only possible to influence the colour of an oiled floor to a limited extent, because the floor can only absorb little oil and therefore colour pigment.
A slightly stronger colour can be achieved by a post-treatment with a coloured ROYL Project Maintenance #4580. The extent to which the colour will change cannot be predicted and can only be shown by a small application test.
Is this is not sufficient, sand the entire floor and treat it again. Colour samples are available to test the colour of the wood on a small surface beforehand. It is important to test oil colours on the actual wood with the actual sanding program, as the substrate and the sanding program also determine the end result.
- Can you use the product in proportion, so half a can/bottle with half hardener, and will the hardener still be good after opening?

Yes, this is possible, and very easy to do on a small kitchen scale with a tare function. Use the mixing ratio as indicated in the Technical Data Sheet. Make sure to shake the entire packaging of the A-component well before taking a part out.
Two tips for resealing the hardener: Squeeze as much air as possible from the pouch and wipe the spout clean. This will extent the shelf life and ensure that you can still unscrew the cap the next time. But please note: the hardener has a limited shelf life after opening.
- Can a floor oiled with ROYL Oil 2K be mopped after 48 hours with ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110?

It could, the ROYL Oil 2K has hardened after 24 hours and is fully loadable.
Note: it is advisable to mop the floor after a week. If it has been mopped after two days and the water is very brown, the oil layer may be affected.
