Surprisingly easy maintenance
Performing maintenance on a ROYL-finished floor is surprisingly easy. Regularly sweeping or vacuuming the floor already covers most of it. And for mopping your floor, we've developed ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110. You could also opt for the ROYL Floor Soap.

FOR THE USER

FOR THE END USER
- Because the ROYL oil is in the wood rather than on top of it, it offers optimal protection. Adding an additional nourishing coat with floor soap is not necessary. You still can, though

- When do I use ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110 and when ROYL Floor Soap #9130/#9131?

ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110 is the cleaning product for regular damp cleaning of a surface treated with ROYL and our standard advice. It makes the surface nicely clean and smooth. It is completely residue-free: it leaves no residue that needs to be removed for a (local) after-treatment with maintenance oil. As soon as the surface shows signs that additional oil is needed, the wood can quickly and easily absorb a maximum of new oil for the best protection.
You can also mop with ROYL Floor Soap #9130 Clear. The soap leaves a nourishing layer of soap after each treatment. This gives a slightly fuller look on dark colours and – when using ROYL Floor Soap #9131 White – also on white floors.
The soap film must be removed before the surface can be touched up with (maintenance) oil. With local maintenance, a temporary difference in gloss and colour may occur, because the layer of soap is partly removed. The difference will gradually decrease after a number of soaping sessions. If the soap film because too thick, gloss disturbances may occur.
Tip: ROYL Floor Soap #9130/#9131 and ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110 can also be used alternatively. This way, you benefit from both the fuller look, and at the same time, you prevent a build-up of soap layers.
- I have mopped with soap a lot and I notice that my floor is becoming more sensitive to sliding marks. What can I do about this?

The soap film has now become too thick. You can reduce this by mopping once or several times with ROYL Mild Cleaner #9110. You can also consider giving the floor a maintenance treatment. The surface is then cleaned extra well with ROYL Intensive Cleaner #9120. This removes all layers of soap. The surface must then be provided with a new layer of oil. This is a quick job for a professional. Consult a wood fitter for advice.
- The ROYL Floor Soap #9131 White seems to have settled, the fluidity of the soap seems to have changed. Can I still use this soap?

This “settling” of the soap is a normal phenomenon. It happens when the product remains “still” in the bottle. Shake it well and the soap is ready to use.
