FYKS Joint Filler is a water-based filler for nail holes and small joints in wood. By simply mixing the filler with sanding dust from the wood, the colour matches the surface perfectly. FYKS Joint Filler is suitable for all types of wood and ideal for parquet floors, furniture and interior panelling.

HOW TO USE IT:
- Preparation: Sand the wooden surface and remove the dust.
- Mixing: Mix the FYKS Joint Filler with fine sanding dust from the surface to be treated to form a smooth paste.
- Application: Apply the paste quickly and evenly with a stainless steel trowel or putty knife, pressing it firmly into the joints and holes.
- Drying: Allow the filler to dry (2-3 hours)
- Finishing: Sand lightly, dust off and apply the desired finish with STEP, SKYLT or ROYL.

- How can I ensure that my nail holes are filled deeply?

There are as many opinions as there are parquet floor installers. However, there are some general tips that can be given. A nail hole that is full of dust cannot be filled properly. Thorough vacuuming is necessary. In fact, while vacuuming, you should be able to count the nail holes per strip of carpet. Then they are properly clean. Use sieved sanding dust from a rotary sander. Dust from a large belt sander is much less suitable.
Filling with the filler is usually done in two stages. In any case, apply a thin layer the first time. The joint filler can then reach the bottom of the nail hole. Allow the joint filler sufficient drying time. Sand away the excess sealant. Use a finer grain. This will make the floor smoother and reduce consumption. The second time, the joint sealant is usually left slightly thicker.
Joints in floors with V-grooves are usually only done once. This is, of course, a very laborious task. Make sure that you fill the hole from several directions and leave it slightly convex. The layer thickness on the wood is then often thicker than after chipping. Therefore, allow for a longer drying time.
