SKYLT Polish Ultramatte
Extends and restores the natural appearance of SKYLT floors
As time goes by, you may need to maintain your SKYLT-fnished floor. SKYLT Polish #9145 restores gloss disturbances and fill scratches, and preserves and protects the untreated appearance of SKYLT: the lifespan of your SKYLT floor is therefore easily extended. The floor must always first be cleaned with SKYLT Intensive Cleaner #9150 and then refreshed with SKYLT Polish.

- Can I polish my newly varnished floor immediately?

Yes, you can. The working area is usually still empty and you immediately benefit from the advantages of the polish layer. The polish protects the underlying varnish layer. Dirt ingress, some gloss disturbances and unavoidable superficial scratches will occur in the easily removable polish layer instead of the varnish layer. We recommend an intermediate drying time of 16-24 hours after the last varnish layer.
- Do I always have to use SKYLT Intensive Cleaner #9150 before applying SKYLT Polish?

This is not necessary if you are polishing a newly varnished floors directly. In all other cases, it is necessary to first thoroughly clean the surface, remove dust and, above all, degrease if before applying a new layer of polish.
- What is the easiest way to apply SKYLT Polish?

To apply polish, use a polish dispenser with a rotating base plate or a squeegee on a T-piece on a long extendable polish stick. This way, you can also easily apply the polish evenly in the corners. This is a lot easier than using a cloth or a mop. The extendable polish stick gives you enough reach to stroke wet-on-wet from a distance.
- Why is it not advisable to apply the polish with a cloth or spreader that has been rinsed with water?

If the polish cloth or spreader is filled with water, it will take a while before you apply undiluted polish. This will lead to streaks after drying. Make it a habit to first thoroughly saturate the polish cloth with polish after rinsing it with water, before you start applying and spreading.
- Do I always have to use SKYLT Polish on a floor finished with SKYLT lacquer?

No, that is not necessary. Very often, polish is applied for the first time when the lacquer layer starts to show signs of wear, such as superficial scratches, gloss differences or sliding marks. Polish is then an ideal easy, fast and cost-effective option to visually improve the floor. Of course, first clean the floor thoroughly with SKYLT Intensive Cleaner.
- Can I add a little bit of SKYLT Polish to my mop water with SKYLT Conditioner?

No, we advise not to do it, as you will definitely not achieve a streak-free result.
- Can I also use SKYLT Polish on STEP 1K Ultramatte?

Yes, that works very well. On STEP 1K Ultramat, SKYLT Polish Ultramat is the recommended product and gives an invisible result. STEP Polish is available in higher gloss levels. These will increase the gloss level on a surface finished with STEP 1K Ultramat.
